Breeder Status

   Breeder recommendations
We bred Kennel Club registered pedigree Labradors under the Accredited Breeder Scheme for eight years before  venturing  into breeding the Labradoodle in 2007 (not a breed recognised by the Kennel Club UK).  Breeding future doodles with our stud dog Louis affords exactly the same research, care and attention to health, welfare, socialisation and training. In addition, we remain in contact with families and our TrentisHoe Doodles and meet many of them annually at our TrentisHoe Doodle day every May.

If we allow Louis to be used at stud the following ground rules are suggested.

Puppies must not be handed to a third party.  The decision to home a puppy should be made after meeting with the family/couple/individual who are/is interested in giving a forever home to any puppy.  The breeder should reserve the right to home a puppy to approved homes only.

An exceptional service should be offered to all new puppy owners and this is a requirement if our TrentisHoe affix is used in relation to a service.
  • Breeding stock can be Kennel Club registered (working register for doodles) and Louis is KC registered with an excellent pedigree.
  • All Dams and Sires should be hip scored (below the breed average) and have current annual eye certificates (available for inspection).
  • The puppies should be well socialised and whelped in a home environment. Advice should be offered regarding continuation of socialisation, exercise and future training.
  • Written advice must be given regarding feeding and worming programmes.
  • Written record must be provided if the puppy is micro chipped.
  • Post sales telephone or email advice should be offered.
  • Whelping facilities must accord with good practice.
  • A contract of sale should be provided.
  • A commitment to help, if necessary, with the re-homing of a dog, for whatever reason, throughout the dog's lifetime.
  • Puppy food, a large soft toy smelling of siblings and a comfort blanket may be provided with each puppy.
  • A record on CD of the birth and 8 week life of a puppy is a bonus.

   Our code of ethics
We work to a code of ethics  in order to protect our dogs, associated puppies and families who may home a puppy related to our stud dog Louis. We pride ourselves on our honour and integrity. We promote responsible breeding and dog ownership giving our animals the best care to the highest standard thus maximising the potential of the dog.

We only offer a stud service to individuals or families who we believe will take full responsibility and great care of a litter.
